Championing Your Property Rights on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska

Our Mission

To eliminate property taxes and restore property rights to the people, using any lawful means to accomplish that goal.

Our Objectives

Our objective is to eliminate property taxes on the Kenai Peninsula and gain true ownership of our real property.

We support the collection of consumptive-based taxes in order to maintain the government’s delivery of required services.

We desire respectful and constructive dialogue with our elected representatives and other government employees to help us reach our desired outcome.

Do we really own our property?

1. It is not based on your ability to pay – It is based upon a calculation of current property sales in your area.  As we reach retirement age, our income typically becomes more “fixed” but our property valuation does not.

2. Property tax is a tax on unrealized gains  - The assessed value of your property is taxed based on perceived market value even if you have no intention of selling. This includes being further taxed on any improvements you may make to your property.

3. Therefore, property taxes take a portion of our property’s equity/value every year – your property is treated as an investment vs. a home.

4.  Unfair burden on younger and lower income homeowners – carve-outs/exemptions create a system of inequity.

5. Property taxes do not always correspond to the value of services received by a property owners.

6.  Property tax is taken by force.  It is predicated on loss of property for inability or failure to pay.  It’s protection payment
